About Tx Log Cabin

Cheryl Arthur (TxLogCabin) was born in Fort Worth and grew up all over the world.  She likes to describe that as Texapolitan.  She’s been following Texas music for years without actually knowing it (let’s see…is it the blonde thing, Aggie thing, or both?).  With a great uncle that was one of Bob Wills’ original Light Crust Doughboys and a Pawpaw that could play any instrument he ever got his hands on, the love of the music (unfortunately not all that natural talent) just seems to be in the Texicana genes.  Her OKOM awakening came in 1998, when she tried to place Pat Green’s seemingly familiarity.  The blonde strands finally pulled together and the thread connected to Robert Earl Keen and, voila!, the obsession was born.  Cheryl went to school at Texas A&M where she recalls seeing (unfortunately never meeting) the boys that used to pick and sing on Sunday mornings on Church St (Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, et al) in College Station.  She’s an engineer in Waco and the central Texas location has made a good starting point for many a good OKOM road trips.  She plucked her screen name from her favorite rat-race get-away, her little log cabin on the rocks on beautiful Lake Whitney.  Keep your eyes open; you’re bound to run into Cheryl eventually at some Texas OKOM event.
