About Jay Johnson
I've loved OKOM and OKOP for years! However, being somewhat myopic, and feeling a bit isolated here in Northeast Ohio, I didn't know it as OKOM or OKOP. I knew it as MKOM (my kind of music) and MKOP (my kind of people)! Regardless, it was inevitable that I'd find my way to OKOM. You can't love Waylon, Willie, Jerry Jeff, Kinky and Billy Joe without finding your way to OKOM! I'm a 42 year old accountant residing in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Please don't hold being an accountant against me, because I hail from a pedigree of beer drinking, hillbilly, coal-miners from the southeast Ohio/West Virginia area hills. My musical interests are wide and varied. I might sit in my den and listen to Tom Waits, Billy Joe Shaver, X, Hank Thompson and Jimmy Durante all in the same night. I'm torn between Memphis, Tennessee and Austin, Texas as my favorite places and future retirement home. I've traveled to both many times to simply hear some good music. My music collection (1,200 albums, 200 CDs, 300 cassettes, etc.) leans toward traditional country (Hank Williams, Hank Snow, etc.), blues (Brownie McGhee & Sonny Terry, Mississippi John Hurt, etc.), and rockabilly (Jerry Lee Lewis, The Blasters, etc.). |
